GODZILLA Graphic Novel Movie Tie In Cover Reveal

Before you go see the new Godzilla movie in the theaters on May 16th pick up the pre movie Graphic Novel by Legendary on May 7th. See the cover after the jump.

"In 1954, we awakened something..."
To pave the way for Godzilla's return to the big screen, Legendary Comics proudly presents the official graphic novel Godzilla: Awakening. Today, we are excited to reveal the King of the Monsters in all his glory, as we unveil the cover featuring exclusive artwork by acclaimed Godzilla artist Arthur Adams. This 80-page story, set decades before the film, is co-written by Max Borenstein (screenwriter of the new Godzilla) and Greg Borenstein. Godzilla: Awakening hits comic book stores May 7, 2014... pre-order your copy today!

Delve into an incredible mystery, generations in the making. At the dawn of the atomic age, humanity awakens life forms beyond imagination, unleashing monumental forces of nature. This explosive, larger-than-life adventure is the perfect way for fans to glimpse the new Godzilla before seeing the film in theaters.
Godzilla: Awakening is illustrated by Eric Battle (X-Men, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman), Yvel Guichet (Pacific Rim: Tales from Year Zero, Superboy Annual, End of Nations), Alan Quah (Rage, The Vampire Diaries, Anywhere) and Lee Loughridge (Batman Adventures, Arkham Asylum: Living Hell, Marvel Zombies Return), and features cover art by Arthur Adams (Godzilla, Fantastic Four, Hulk, UncannyX-Men).

COMIC CON TEASER

An epic rebirth to Toho's iconic Godzilla, this spectacular adventure pits the world's most famous monster against malevolent creatures who, bolstered by humanity's scientific arrogance, threaten our very existence.
Godzilla is a new, upcoming movie by Monsters director, Gareth Edwards. Godzilla 2014hits theaters May 16th, 2014 in 3D and stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Bryan Cranston & Elizabeth Olsen.

I am hoping for some answers to who Godzilla is fighting , and why. The title is Awakening, so maybe it will have some clues to who is behind Awakening him, other than the obvious government answers.

What did you think of the cover art reveal?
Will you get a copy before the movie comes out?

  1. It doesn't spoil the movie does it? Not that there's a chance of that happening...

  8. Yeah, I get that Man, but why not make a free download or bundle it with a Bluray? I guess I'm not the target market. I'll probably buy the comic though.

  9. I've always wondered will Godzy ever find true love! If she finds a hubs for herself she will be less cranky and will lose all those angry wrinkles....

  15. I think the 1998 movie was the only confirmation that Godzilla was a female or Asexual. It is true that Godzilla had a son before in the older movies, but it was never discussed how he came about.

  16. I haven't seen many Godzilla movies, maybe just one :) I've always fancied that she's a lady and that she has hatched eggs and ruins the cities because the eggs are hidden under the city grounds :) That's just my imagination I guess....
