Do you enjoy Classic Who?
What did you think of the video?
How about the new Doctor's clothes?
He really admired Tom Baker.
ReplyDeleteI would hope so, seeing that Tom had the majority of time as the Doctor.
ReplyDeleteCan you believe I still have not seen one episode of DOCTOR WHO? I am so culturally challenged! I'm glad he admired Tom Baker, your favorite Dr. Who. :-)
ReplyDeleteHA! I've had some people think I must be British because I like it so much.
ReplyDeleteNow hope you don't kill me, Dave :) I haven't watched Capaldi in DR WHO, but I'm watching him currently in THE MUSKETEERS and I don't get the buzz around him - in the BBC epic series he is shockingly expressionless, cold, without any charisma nor passion, a truly bland actor.
ReplyDeleteI've seen the pictures of him in THE MUSKETEERS, but not the show itself.
ReplyDeleteHave you seen THE THICK OF IT? He played a foul-mouthed media strategist for the British government.

The buzz is he is a Fan of Doctor Who.
ReplyDeleteHe has won an Academy Award for Franz Kafka's It's a Wonderful Life as a Director and Writer.
Love the Doc Martens!
ReplyDeleteHere is a pic of him reading a Doctor who Target book.
The Dalek Invasion of Earth
He amazingly has the same hair style.
ReplyDeleteThat's dedication to a hair style!
ReplyDeleteCool clothes. I like that they are understated.
ReplyDeleteAnd I love love love Tom Baker!! But you knew that already ;)
Tom Baker is uber-cool !!!
ReplyDeleteNo bow tie? I'm going to miss that!
ReplyDeleteBow ties are still cool.
ReplyDeleteDoc Martens are cool!
Capaldi is exactly how I pictured him.
ReplyDeleteClassic yet New!
ReplyDeleteI've heard that if I want to get into the show, I'm supposed to start watching from a certain point onward... so I'm guessing that means that classic episodes aren't as good? Or no? Or is it all fabulous? ;)
ReplyDeleteIt is a matter of opinion. I grew up watching the classics. Cheesy special effects, great stories. The New Who started in 2005. My thoughts are to start watching with the newest Doctor, then you can go back to other Doctors and appreciate the 50 years that is Doctor Who. I think the new series is going to start in August. They are currently filming it right now. He will be new, and you would be able to follow and grow with him. There is no way to watch all of the series from the beginning, the BBC has even lost several episodes of the early works by recording over them to save cost, or just losing them!
ReplyDeleteLike the new duds, except how tight the pants are around the ankles. It reminds me of the 80's when we all pegged our pants. Says me, who can't wait for the 'skinny pant' trend to be over.
ReplyDeleteYes, I remember rolling my pants so tight that it hurt!
ReplyDeleteThere hasn't been anything "Skinny" about me since the 80's!
Love the jacket! Very stylish :) Someday I'll catch up on the Classic Who!
ReplyDeleteA magician! Alacawho!
ReplyDeleteunfortunately most of my Classic Who is on VHS that I need to convert to digital.
ReplyDeleteThe new one looks like he belongs in some off-Broadway dinner theater show.
ReplyDeleteHA! That has been a lot of peoples thoughts on what he looks like.

There is nothing wrong with Off-Broadway dinner theater....
ReplyDeleteI like the ketchup.
My son has a scarf that his great-grandmother made.
ReplyDeleteIt isn't as long or as colorful as Tom's but he would wear it in the summer if I let him. :-)
Love the duds - all of them!
ReplyDeleteNice suit. The red inlining is what really sets it off. Although I'd hate to wear those shoes all the time. Those soles are big enough that I'd trip over everything wearing them.
ReplyDeleteAnd I assumed Moffat was a big fan, because I had it in my head somehow that he'd mentioned he'd been gunning for that showrunner spot since he was 7.... although it's possible that was Russell T Davies who said that. I can't remember.
