It has been a while since my last post. So here is a little about me and my blog...along with a few INSECURE feelings...
For those new here my blog is about my geek obsessions. I realy have a thing for Doctor Who, as if you did't notice already. For my regulars I have a new laptop, and am slowly making my rounds, while trying to make new friends along the way.
For a while now I have been afraid I would never be able to catch up on my writing. My inability to write even a simple blog post do to my circumstances got me angry. This then led to me getting down on myself.
I know what you are going to say...
LET IT GO, AND BUILD A SNOWMAN!

ReplyDeleteWelcome back, not just to the IWSG, but online. Awesome about the new laptop and hope we see you more often now, David. We've missed your geek obsessions.
It's great to have you back David and I'm loving the Star Wars: Frozen vibe.
ReplyDeleteso glad you got the new laptop! Hope the situation with the insurance is over too!
ReplyDeleteIt's good you're back in the blogosphere.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you're back. Life has gotten in the way of my writing progress too but I write when I can and when I feel like it. No need to pressure myself or I'll just get frustrated with myself and then my writing will suck. I hope things are looking brighter for you and best of luck with the new computer!!
ReplyDeleteIt's a New Year, full of possibilities! Welcome back, looking forward!
ReplyDeleteHurray for the new laptop and getting back into writing!
ReplyDeleteI'm slowly making my way back to what I was doing previously, too.
ReplyDeleteI've been there: when my home burned down, I was without my treasured laptop and cut off from the internet -- but at that time, I had no blog so that was a plus. Yet, I had friends who I couldn't connect to across the country.
ReplyDeleteEvery wound takes time to heal. I know you will snap back. You were missed. And I am so glad you are back with a new laptop. Have a much better 2015!
I had a really bad 2014. What upset me the most was not the problems I was dealing with themselves but the fact that I was falling so far behind on my blogging and my writing in general. My resolution for 2015 is to do a better job staying on top of my writing schedule no matter what life throws at me.
ReplyDeleteFrom one geek to another, glad you're back, David. Glad you fought those negative thoughts and won. Happy IWSG and Happy New Year.
ReplyDelete#63 on the IWSG list.
Welcome back to the IWSG!
ReplyDeleteA toast to positivity! :)
Hope you have a great 2015!

January IWSG co-hostess.
Thanks Alex. I definitely can do more at home now. It was a pain borrowing my neighbors laptop.
ReplyDeleteStar Wars Episode VIII: The Frozen Force...
ReplyDelete.;-)
I still have somethings that need resolving with the insurance, but I now have a refrigerator that has helped.
ReplyDeleteThanks Pat, You never know how much you miss it till its gone for a while.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know how much I would miss writing, till i lost the laptop.
ReplyDeleteI guess I could have done it the old way and actually write it on paper. ;-)
Thanks Yolanda!
ReplyDeleteNew Year New Fun!!
The laptop helps tremendously, I can use spell check again! ;-)
ReplyDeleteYou have so many blogs I don't know how you write and do them.
ReplyDeleteI have a hard time with just my one!
Out of all my internet friends you are right there on the top.
ReplyDeleteWho else will let me know what the ghost of Mark Twain is thinking? ;-)
I can relate to that James.
ReplyDeleteI share your resolution!
Thanks, every IWSG Wed you are everywhere!
ReplyDeleteAt one time I used to post at least 2 times a week. I am setting goals to start at least once a week, that way I don't lose followers, or my mind! ;-)
ReplyDeletewoohoo! A cold beer always helps :)
ReplyDeleteI was happy with just having milk! ;-)
ReplyDeleteNew computers - a blessing and a curse, LOL! Welcome back!
ReplyDeleteThanks Carol!
ReplyDeleteThe biggest curse is using Windows 8.1...
You know...I STILL haven't seen Frozen. I'm glad you're back!
ReplyDeleteYou don't know what you're missing! ;-)
ReplyDeleteGlad to be back!
So, how's that snowman building coming along?
ReplyDeleteHey, are you enjoying the new Doctor?
The Snowman will have to be virtual, today is the coldest day of winter and it is only 41 F.
ReplyDeleteI am loving 12. He had to grow on my kids because he is so grumpy, but that is what I like about him most.
Very glad to see you back here. It wasn't the same without you.
ReplyDeleteThanks Robyn!
ReplyDeleteGlad to be Back!
Oh nice, a new laptop. Nice you can rejoin the blogging/writing community again :)
ReplyDeleteI feel rather guilty when I don't blog or write, but I've misbehaved so often the "let it go" is a mantra.
Always glad to meet a fellow whovian. I got so out of touch with IWSG that I had to take a break and come back later. My goal is to try to find more people to connect with through it this time. I've definitely been in the place of feeling down on myself over not blogging. Trying to be gentler on myself this year. Good luck to you and well met!
ReplyDeleteI have found that I am harder on myself for not wringing.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting the world needs more whovians!
so it begins... the journey back to the light side. welcome back.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jeremy!
ReplyDeleteDoes the light side have cookies?
I always say at the root of writer's block is fear. Maybe once we recognize that, we can somehow fight past it.
ReplyDeleteThats a good point, Stephanie.
ReplyDeleteFear can impede the best of us.
But I have it on good authority that fear is a super power! (and also "Fear makes companions of us all," whatever that means.)
ReplyDeleteWhen you struggle to make time to write, every word is an achievement. Celebrate and keep going!
ReplyDeleteLove the GIF, his smile was so iconic
Thanks Nigel!
ReplyDeleteHe was all teeth and curls!
HA! Epic episode quote! You get extra credit for that one!
ReplyDeleteWe can get ourselves into a cycle with the not writing thing, can't we? Life is full of events and interruptions. The best thing I've found is to keep moving forward. Any progress, even if just thinking about writing and brainstorming, is better than nothing. It helps me, anyway. :) Wishing you all the best. Good to see you back!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you got a laptop. It must have been so frustrating for you, not being able to write. Glad to see you here, again!
ReplyDeleteThanks Karen.
ReplyDeleteI plan on concerning this thing called Life, or at least taming it so i can get my nap in.
;-)
It was as equally frustrating not being able to visit all my internet friends.
ReplyDeleteyes, but without transfats... ;)
ReplyDeleteOh may and I do relate. Would you believe it took ages to have your site load up. I have to get a new computer and soon. I share your frustration, good sir. I feel terrible that it takes so long to get to sites and comment.
ReplyDeleteLet your writing flow with the inspiration that beats in your Dr. Who type heart :)

Thank you Penny the Jack Russell dog and modest internet superstar! Here is to you surviving the lag!
ReplyDeleteTotally fun, and totally relate.... glad to find you, will be back!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the visit.
ReplyDeleteI'm here to entertain! ;-)
