Some Doctor Who news has been trickling down the internet river. Some are spoilers, most are fun!
What do fandoms do when waiting for the new season...On a side note... My deepest apologies to the Firefly fandom.
I did feel your pain in the dark times...1989-2005. Fox even Killed the 1996 Doctor Who Movie from becoming a new series. I digress...
#1 Find a good wallpaper for your computer, or phone.
Like the one I led off with, or like the one below. That way every time you look at it you are reminded of the thing that you miss most.
#2 Find those that are like minded.
In a post I made last September Whovian-Smorgasbord
I listed 6 Doctor Who sites that I frequent. If you use Google+ there are several communities to enjoy and share. I highly recommend joining as many as possible. You will meet interesting people with diverse ideas. The only draw back is having repeat post from different communities.
Here is one I found crosses most fandoms:

#3 Find videos to pacify your time.
Here are a few to get you started.
Sherlock meets the Doctor. A nod to both fandoms, and to Steven Moffat who produces both series.
10th Doctor does the TIME WARP from The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Funny stuff!

ReplyDeleteThanks for the Firefly reminder. I'm adding that to my sidebar.
Thats a good idea! I didn't get around to seeing them all.
ReplyDeleteThat is a good idea! I didn't get around to seeing them all.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely watching Nathan in Firefly to pass the summer months...
ReplyDeleteSHINY!
ReplyDeleteGreat advice because August is still a long way away...
ReplyDeleteLoved the videos. Especially Sherlock. :)
Thanks. August is way too far away!
ReplyDeleteFor me August means GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY! Great post. Especially like the FIREFLY wallpaper. At least we had the movie SERENITY. :-)
ReplyDeleteSerenity was great. It tied up the series.
ReplyDelete2005-2009 for Star Trek fans was pretty long. (Not quite as long as 1974-1979, but only by a year.) It seemed like we weren't going to get anything at all anymore.
ReplyDeleteThats true, don't want to leave out the Trekkies! :-)
ReplyDeleteI try not to obsess about any show that much. It'll be interesting to see how fans react to the old guy taking over.
ReplyDeleteTHE WALKING DEAD is the only show I truly miss during the hiatus... but not so much now since the new showruiner has ruined the show a lot.... I will miss DA VINCI'S DEMONS when they end this season this weekend
ReplyDeleteI watch reruns. I can't wait until August!
ReplyDeleteI pout LOL! I'm kidding. What I do is watch more movies.
ReplyDeleteIt is in my DNA to obsess.
ReplyDeleteSome fangirls might leave, to them I say....Adiós!
I miss the Walking Dead also, but I can only handle so much crazy till I go sane...
ReplyDeleteI so the same.
ReplyDeleteI have watched Matt Smiths final episode till I think I know it by heart!
If I can distract myself with more movies I do.
ReplyDeleteI still pout though!
The best way is to watch old episodes, but that community sounds really cool David. Can't wait! Have an awesome evening.
ReplyDeleteAll my Classic Who is on VHS, one day I'll take the time to convert it to digital.
ReplyDeleteYeah!
ReplyDeleteHa! I've had this withdrawal. No fun.
ReplyDeleteI've tried to fill it with Godzilla, as big as he is the inside of the TARDIS is much larger!
ReplyDeleteI've read three Doctor Who novels since the 50th anniversary episode. One was pretty bad, but the other two were pretty good. I've got another one on my shelf here that I'll be reading in the next month or two.
ReplyDeletebeen watching the episodes that run in the morning... to get caught up. i have waited for years so a few more months...
ReplyDeleteI haven't read a Doctor Who novel in years, that is a great idea.
ReplyDeleteThe Big Finish audio series are great also.
Time is all relative...
ReplyDeleteI've never watched Doctor Who . . . am I banned from your blog now? HAHA (P.S. I hope not!)
ReplyDeleteGreetings, good sir,
ReplyDeleteDr. Who never really leaves us in Britain. If your saw my friends house, a Dr. Who shrine, you would be like a kid in a candy shop!
Have a great weekend, DAVID! :)
Gary
Of course not!
ReplyDeleteIt is never too late to start!
This friend you speak of does he have house tours?
