Captain America Doesn't Understand Your New-Fangled Technology!

After watching Captain America: The Winter Soldier, I am reminded how out of touch he is with our modern technology.
So here is some of the best that the internet has to offer on the subject.

The Texts from Superheroes has quite a few DC, Marvel and even Doctor Who Texts. If you think about how hard it is for older folks to adapt to technology it would only make sense for a man frozen from the 40's to have the same difficulty.

  1. I think I like the notebook list the best. Berlin Wall (Up + Down)

  2. I've read that the movie shows different Notebook list for whatever country it is showing in. I'd like to see the one for the People's Republic of China.

  3. Hey, I still don't text!
Someone probably needs to explain Google before he tries it though...

  4. And be sure to stop by today, David - surprise for you!

  5. it is rather ironic given the fact how you Americans are obsessed with technology :)

  7. I had a text plan when I was purchasing my house. My wife would go back and forth with the realtor. After we signed the papers I canceled the plan so now we have a dumb phone with no texting!

  10. Someone should tell him to just cross Disco off his list there. Most people wish they could have skipped over it.

  11. This is great. Steve seems surprisingly well adjusted in the latest movie, but I love the little notebook he carried. Of all of these the Nirvana joke is my favorite. BTW belated congrats on your marriage in 2001 David!

  12. I don't text, either. I prefer using complete sentences and speaking to the other party!

  15. Thanks, I am too busy to do the A-Z, but I have enjoyed going to others and seeing what they come up with.

  16. HA! He needs to experience all that stinks to truly appreciate the finer things in life.

  17. I think he is adjusting, I found it funny when Black Widow made a joke and he got the reference. As far as congrats tell that to my wife, she is the one who married down!

  18. Talking beats Texting any day in my book!

  19. These made me laugh! I really like Capt America both as a comic character and the movie. The text messages do highlight how hard it is for some older ones to catch up and if you've been asleep 40 years that would be hard, lol!

Congrats to both you and your wife! May you live long and prosper--don't know where that came from, lol!

  20. Next to Batman, he is my favourite hero!
Living long is not up to me, unless I eat the last breakfast taco!

  22. Thanks! I would love to travel to the future, but at what cost? I think I'm more comfortable staying here and now.

  23. Congrats on being spotlighted on Alex's blog. Loved these tech snippets. I think Chris Evans hated how Whedon changed his uniform for the AVENGERS. I hope they let him keep the one from THE WINTER SOLDIER!

  24. I wonder if he was sad when he found out about Cobain?

These were great, David. I really loved the one with the selfie. Just like the song, "but first, lemme take a selfie!" Funny. Oh, and I saw you on Alex's post today. Nice, very nice.

  25. Thanks. I feel like a celebrity today!
I like the one he had at the end of TWS, and the consequences it had on a certain person!:-)

  26. I can't think of all the emotions he had to go through from the winning the war, to the cold war to now.

  29. Those texts from superheroes are consistently hilarious. I did think Cap caught up a little too quickly in "Winter Soldier," but otherwise he'd spend the whole movie figuring out how to use a computer.

  30. Thats true, he could start with DOS and move up from there!
