On his youtube page Chet adds this comment:
Just
wanted to clarify that this isn't meant to be a radical re-imagining of the
film or a recreation of a 40's-style trailer. As many have pointed out, Blade
Runner is already very "Noir." I just wanted to take those aspects of
the film and accentuate them into something hopefully interesting. The piano
song is "Memories of Green" off the soundtrack. All sounds and images
in the trailer are from the film or soundtrack. Thanks again!
What did you think?
Have you seen Blade Runner?
Do you dream of electric sheep?
It really fits well. Yes, the film is very noir and atmospheric, and with a slow pace. Lends itself well to a retro trailer.
ReplyDeleteI love Blade Runner, so I couldn't help sharing this.
ReplyDeleteI didn't grow up with Blade Runner, but I still grew to appreciate it.
ReplyDeleteThe original has a voice over, while the Director's cut does not.
ReplyDeleteHa, that's clever. I have seen Bladerunner and I've read the book. They are quite separate entities. They should say about the movie, 'loosely based on the book', lol.
ReplyDeleteMost adaptations are.
ReplyDeleteConsidering that the film is based on film noir it's quite fitting. Great find David!
ReplyDeleteWhat is funny is I am probably in the minority that actually like the director's cut more.
ReplyDeleteI've seen parts of it. Hubby really likes that movie. I like the idea of it but find it a little too dark and gruesome.
ReplyDeleteArt imitates life.
ReplyDeleteLife can be dark and gruesome.
Me I'm just fat and furry!
My alleged human, Gary, has seen Blade Runner. I dream of electric cats.

Penny the Jack Russell dog and modest internet superstar!
When I think of Blade Runner, I think of the Swartznegger movie (is that right? Or did I just drop my nerd card?) But I like this version better.
ReplyDeleteNow I am off to google Blade Runner and edumacate myself ;)
Yep, I'm feeling stupid. Nope, I've never seen that movie.
ReplyDeleteGoogle has made me king of trivial knowledge for years!
ReplyDeleteThe book and the Movie are a must for the intellectual nerd.
ReplyDeleteYou are free to pick up your card, for one day we will all be required to have it implanted so it won't get lost.
I just hope my Proctologist has small hands.
That is so freaking cool! Totally fits the film.
ReplyDeleteI do not dream of sheep, but if I did, they'd probably be zombie sheep. :D
Oh wow, that's awesome! I love this film, and really want to watch it again now. I heard a rumor they were re-making it? Quite frankly I hope they don't--the original is just too good.
ReplyDeleteSo the Sheep would groan...
ReplyDelete"GRAINS....GRAINS!"
The rumor I heard was it will be a prequel or sequel.
ReplyDeletelove this... blade runner is one of my favorites, period!

You can never go wrong with a story about replicants...unless they go looking for their maker.
ReplyDeleteLove this movie. It was one of the first five DVD's I bought.

ReplyDeleteI would imagine you chase the electric cats you dream of.
