WHO GOES THERE...

TIME OF THE DOCTOR TRAILER & BREAKDOWN

Just remember after the jump...

Orbiting a quiet backwater planet, the massed forces of the universe's deadliest species gather, drawn to a mysterious message that echoes out to the stars - and amongst them, the Doctor. Rescuing Clara from a family Christmas dinner, the Time Lord and his best friend must learn what this enigmatic signal means for his own fate and that of the universe.

The Dapper Doctor W/Cane in hand & Silence
Mother Superious of the Papal Mainframe
This was confirmed by Steven Moffat in Doctor Who Magazine no.468
Weeping Angel Hand
Possible Weeping Angel Hand grabbing Clara?
Clara asking Mystery person to help the Doctor
Dalek EX-TER-MIN-ATE!

Old Doctor? This leads me to believe that some of the rumors of the Doctor fighting this war on Trenzalore for a very long time are true.
In the center or the picture, notice how the Doctor is leaning on his cane, unlike earlier when he was simply using it as a prop he played with.
Clara running with something glowing in her hand.
Silence using his Sith Force Lightning
"Now, young Skywalker... you will die!"

BBC America has released even more photos.
I found one very interesting.
Mother Superious of the Papal Mainframe
With a Dalek eye stalk!
Is she an agent of the Daleks? Or is this just a copy that the Daleks use to trick the Doctor?

In Doctor Who Magazine no.468 Steven Moffat states:
"The Doctor meets an old friend. Someone from his distant past. Someone who knows him very well, but whom we have never met. She's the Mother Superious of the Papal Mainframe."

  4. Whoa. This trailer is intense. They're really pulling all the stops out for this one! The old Doctor is a brilliant spoiler and I'm looking forward to the Angels, but the Silence never really clicked with me. We'll see eh?

  5. They seem to be sending Matt off in style!
I realy like the Silence. The Idea that you can forget them the moment you look away is cool. I just think they have been underused since The Impossible/Astronaut/Day of the Moon

  6. I'm wary of spoilers. But.... Trailer looks pretty awesome. Loved the silence myself, but think the weeping angels might end up like the Borg did from Star Trek if they keep telling more and more stories with them.

  7. I concur with your thoughts. on the angels.
There is 50 years of history to glean from.

  8. Your probably right.  I thought the Ood were lame till they're third appearance.

  9. So at the end does he become that old Scottish guy? Seems like a big downgrade to me.

  15. It is similar to the ones in Asylum of the Daleks.

  16. BBC America is slightly behind. Dr. Who is almost turning into a bit of Star Wars meets Flash Gordon. I shall go visit my friend. He probably has some of the props in the photos :)

The Dalek eye stalk thingy is cool. I can imagine the giggles as Mother Superious strolled around with that attached to her forehead...

  18. That is a good description of what it seems to be now. The BBC is actually investing in the shows effects.

  19. HA! It does look like a phallic symbol.
Now I will never look at it the same.
